How it works

Where this goes
An agent is more than a model. It also has a harness, Skills, tools, memory, rules and the place where it works, and each can change the outcome. Techtree starts with Skills because they give the cleanest comparison.
The same method, more widely
- Hold the tasks fixed, and improve the Skill.
- Hold the Skill and the tasks fixed, and improve the harness.
- Hold the agent fixed, and improve the environment.
- Hold the training fixed, and compare which environment helps most.
The rule stays the same: freeze the system, say what may change, measure the result, keep the evidence.
Running in more places
Not available yet. The plan is to run the same comparison locally and, later, on hosted machines; with Hermes directly or through NVIDIA NeMo Fabric; and with Codex. Each new way to run is its own Climb version, so changing where a run happens never changes what an existing Result means.
The agent stack
NVIDIA NeMo Fabric will help run different agent harnesses the same way, and NeMo Relay will help keep comparable records of model calls, tool calls and subagents. Prime Intellect's Verifiers stays the judge of task scores. Techtree records what was fixed, what changed, and what the evidence lets anyone claim.
The network around it
Regents will add the network around Techtree's work: publishing, discovery, identity, reputation, hosted runs, repeats and payments. Later, Results, Skills and environments may be shared or sold, and agents that do useful work will be able to build a track record and earn USDC. That depends on the research being honest first: same agent, same tasks, one changed Skill, and a receipt for the difference.
Give this to your agent
Go to techtree.sh/start, install the release Techtree names, and run the Hello World Climb. Stop before any paid model call and ask me to approve it.
